ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Happy Holidays, Fellow Readers!  My apologies for my long absence....  Unfortunately, this site is really not paying my bills, and I have taken on a new job.  As I was out of town training for this new job, I was unable to keep up with adding books to my site.  I should be back on this shortly.  Coming Feb. 1, 2008:  5 second audio "commercials"....  Yes, I am still trying to get this site to at least pay for itself, lol.  Please be tolerant so that I may continue to provide free ebooks to you.  WEBMASTERS:  Get paid on 100% of your website traffic, no clicks necessary! To provide books, and information in the form of ebooks at one site.  There are books and information scattered all over the internet.  There are directories which provide links to other sites where one may download, but my mission is to find them, and provide one download site.  

Most of these books will be in .pdf format, which is the most universal, and easiest to read.  To view these, you will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader, which you may download for free here.  I will also consider some ebooks that come in .exe format, though they are a lesser preferred version..  Although all files have been scanned by my antivirus, I strongly urge you to re-scan all downloads, from here or any other site, with your own antivirus software.

I will not provide any pornography, instructions on how to make bombs, or any such objectionable materials here.  So if you are looking for this, please look elsewhere!  I will also not provide ebooks which are nothing but blatant advertisements for you to buy other products, unless there is good information in the ebook, in which case, the decision to make a purchase to obtain more information is your own.  Most ebooks have a website link in them, which I will not remove, as it might be a site you'd be interested in if you enjoy the material in the ebook.  So the "blatant" advertisement label might, at times, be a fine line.

Work

I am combing the internet daily, looking for ebooks to provide.  This includes classics by well-known authors, as well as little known ebooks by relatively unknown authors.  No, unfortunately, you won't find the latest books published by publishing houses, you still have to go to the store to buy those :-).  Now it does take some time to find these books, download them, get permission from the author where necessary, and prepare them.  For example, many of the books in the public domain, I receive in text format.  When this happens, I have to copy into a word processor, and line by line, remove the carriage returns, then add spaces.  Sometime, I even have to add carriage returns to put back empty lines between the paragraphs.  Then I have to convert the book into .pdf format.  This process literally takes hours for even one book.  As this is still a one person show, please be patient....!!  I am willing to take requests.  For example, if a student needs to find a book for a class, and it is in the public domain, I will be glad to see if I can find it and get it up on this site.  The convenience?  You won't have to waste any gas going to the library to get it (or return it), and you won't have to spend any money buying it.  Simply download it for free (if it's in the public domain), and when it serves it's purpose, simply delete it without guilt.  Please send reqests to webmaster@free-ebooklibrary.com.

Public Domain

A word about Public Domain.  In short, these are books whose copyright has run out.  Therefore, nobody "owns" the rights to them.  I will be providing most of them here for free.  Some people DO charge for them.  I feel that that is fair as long as it is a minimal amount, because (as stated above) there IS work involved in getting them put together for you, as well as the costs and work involved in maintaining a website.  The reason I am providing most of them for free, is that I recognize that not everybody is in the middle to upper class income range of our society, and I'd like those who can't afford to pay, to be able to have access to them as well.   I have added a "donate" button to the bottom of this website, and rely on those people who are able, and who have the heart, to donate a few dollars if they find this site helpful.

Also, please note that while some public domain books refer to illustrations, they may not be present, and that is how I find and receive them.

Bookstore

Yes, there will be an ebookstore.  There are several reasons for this.  One is that there are many books that I actually pay to be able to provide here.  These ebooks will be provided at a minimum cost to you.  The second is that this site does cost money, and it will help defray all the costs associated with this site. Thirdly, the licenses that I get with some of these books prohibit me from giving them away, so the next best thing is to offer them far below Suggested Retail Price.  Lastly, there is some material that I do not feel should be made freely available to minors.  Also, as previously mentioned, this is incredibly time consuming for me.  

Calling all authors!!

Are you an aspiring author?  Would you like a forum in which to publish your works, short or long?  Then send in a manuscript for consideration to submissions@free-ebooklibrary.com, and I will consider putting it up on this site.  If you're looking to get "published" and get your work "out there", I'm looking for fresh content:  Who knows, you may be able to generate an income via sales on this site.  We are currently getting visitors from over 7 different countries worldwide!A  Acceptable formats will be:  Microsoft Word, .pdf, or plain text (least preferred due to all the work involved in converting to .pdf.)

This is a brand new website, so please bear with me as I'm building it.  I am currently playing with different software and designs as I build this site, and trying to get it all together for you.   I know that it is pretty "plain", but at the moment, I'd like to work on getting the books online for you, and to make it easily navigable, rather than worry about pretty graphics, etc.  Hopefully, that will come later.

Also, if you have any problems at all downloading a book, or following a link, please let me know at support@free-ebooklibrary.com.  I am prone to "typo's" as much as anybody, so I would like to know to be able to fix them, or, if something is no longer a working link, I would like to remove it.
